After completing studies from the atoll school, Shazu, Mary and Haarisa; three girls shifted to an apartment in Male’ and started living together.

Few days after Shazu began her college, she started experiencing difficulties. She noticed that as soon as she step out of her house to go to college she gets a headache. First, the pain was mild so she ignored the pain and continued with her studies until a few days later, again she started getting the headache. This time, the pain became severe. Some days she was unable to get up from her bed. Even after taking medicine, the pain was relieved for a few days. As the pain started getting worse and worse, she consulted a doctor and it was said that she suffered from Migraine.  After that she started taking medication for Migraine and the pain was relieved for just a month.

Again, she started experiencing strange things. Her headache became worse than ever. The pain made her black out and unconscious. This time also the doctor said that it was migraine and so she continued her medication.

A week after that, while the sun was setting, all of a sudden she started having severe headache and she blacked out. She felt feverish and her body temperature elevating. When she noticed her body temperature elevating, she took a shower and while she was in her room she heard someone whisper her name near her ear. After that her headache returned and her body felt weak. As she laid down to rest for a while, she fell asleep. After she started experiencing these strange feelings continuously for a few days, she realised that this is not something normal especially because, every time this happens and she falls asleep, she has a nightmare and she sees immoral dreams.

As her days passed like this, she felt uncomfortable. So she opened up to her two other friends and they discussed about this matter. From that moment, after going through various websites and after discussing with many people, Shazu became cognizant that what was happening to her were symptoms of something spiritual. She confessed this to her family out of fear. They had no clue what was exorcism. Therefore, to treat her, her father brought a person who practices impermissible exorcism. He gave a glass of water to her which no one knows what he recited to it.

After she drank that glass of water, for about a month the difficulties she experienced were relieved. After that, she had the frightening feeling that someone was with her all the time. Even when she was in her room, or in the bathroom, she had this frightening feeling. When this started to happen, she was unable to continue her studies. She had a lack of interest in her studies. She always wanted to make her room dark and to stay there alone. Being startled while sleeping, bruises on the body after waking up and scratches on the body began to increase.

With this unbearable pain, her fear started to grow. Consequently, she started looking for a cure again. This time, via a brother of hers, a person who does permissible exorcism was brought to her. After diagnosing her, the exorcist revealed that she was being possessed by a devil.

He came to know the reason for the devil to possess her, through sessions of exorcism. It started when she was living in her island. She used to meet her boyfriend in the jungle near a Banyan tree. The devil was watching them very closely because they used to meet and make out at that exact place during day and night. They both used to throw things at the tree and climb the tree and eat its fruits.

During the exorcism sessions, the devil which appeared confessed that when it saw Shazu and her boyfriend act immorally and have a lot of unlawful sexual intercourse, it fell for her and wanted to fornicate with her. And it saw that some nights they used to fornicate while being completely naked, so it fell in love with her and wanted to get close to her.

The devil refused to leave her. There was another devil with Shazu due to the impermissible exorcism done on her by the person brought by her father. It is believed that the second devil came to her due to using Shirk (disbelief in Allah) and seeking help from the devil while exorcising. The first devil wants to be with Shazu all the time, and to find pleasure from her and fornicate with her. The devil wanted to be with her for the rest of her life.

Days were passing by while exorcising her, yet there were no changes in her behaviour. She did not pay any attention to religious matters. The exorcist kept advising her to change her behaviour. He reminded her to pray and read the daily supplications. From that moment, she started collecting religious information from people. As a result, her behaviour changed and she started to pray while reading the daily supplications regularly. She increased reciting the Quran. She felt that she finally started living. She left her immoral behaviour and bad habits. Not long after that, with the help of permissible exorcism, she was cured by the mercy of Allah. After that, now she does not suffer any difficulties like that. By the Will of Allah, she is now continuing her studies. Learning from her mistakes, two of her friends also changed their behaviour by leaving their bad habits and adhering to Islam. All praise is to Allah.

Friends! The devil loves every immoral act. It is with you and join you in every immoral act without you being able to see it. It comes to you through your dreams. While you are asleep and awake. Moreover, it touches you even if you refuse to; no matter how excruciatingly painful it is to your body.

You can protect yourself from the devil when you change your behaviour as Allah has commanded you to. The Quran can be of assistance to you only if you believe and act upon it. Otherwise it might be as if your yarns changed back into cotton. Prayer and daily supplications protect yourself from evil. Leave your bad deeds and start being pious. Save yourself from the deceptions of the devil. Allah says in the Quran:

وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَانًا فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرِينٌ﴿٣٦﴾ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ﴿٣٧

“And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan – Devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. And verily, they (Satans / Devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright!” (Surah Az-Zukhruf: 36-37)
